Warning! Distraction Ahead!

Who can relate?

I am still learning to be careful with distractions. It's so difficult to focus on the important things today. There are so many external noises, things like technology, and trivialities.

We are all designed with a specific purpose, a great and meaningful destiny.

''But you are A CHOSEN RACE, A royal PRIESTHOOD, A HOLY NATION, A PEOPLE FOR God's OWN POSSESSION, so that you may proclaim the excellencies of Him who has called you out of darkness into His marvelous light'' (1 Peter 2:9)

''just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we would be holy and blameless before Him In love'' (Ephesians 1:4)

Distraction are factors that will steal your attention from your purpose. This this is a daily battle between the will of our body and the will of our spirit. Paul talks a lot about this issue in the book of Romans.

God is calling us to stay focused.

''Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.''(Colossians 3:2)

When our focus remains in God, our spiritual life starts to flourish. We start to exercise our spiritual senses when spending time in His word, prayer, worship, and being a blessing to others in Jesus name. Because what ever we do the bible teaches us that we should do it in love and for God.

Prayer: Father I pray for discernment in my life to be aware of the distractions that come my way. Help me to make wise decisions with my time and attention. I pray for time with you, my family, plans and projects. Help me to make time for all the important things that you give me to do. In Jesus name, amen!
