Apart from the noises.

After the amazing experience I had this last weekend at a Christian summer camp from my church, I can really testify of God's Glory and power over our lives; how your Lord wants and longs to fellowship with you and me. I learned how His mercy, love, peace, care, help & power is available every single day of our lives if we only would dare to get away from the noise of the daily routines and distractions and go to a quiet place! Meaning, finding a spot at home or where ever you are to connect through prayer, worship, Bible reading and meditating in His word or just staying still before our Heavenly Father. Sometimes when I have my personal time with Him I just play Christian inspirational music and sit still and let the Holly Spirit embrace me. There are just so many ways to have that time apart from the noises of life, it could even be sitting at your porch with coffee and reading a devotional and admiring the beauty of nature (if the scenery inspires you).
"But Jesus often withdrew to lonely places and prayed." (Luke 5:16)
“Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where he prayed.” (Mark 1:35)
“Jesus went out to a mountain side to pray, and spent the night praying to God. When morning came, he called his disciples to him.” (Luke 6:12-13. See also Mark 3:13)
“But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.” (Matthew 6:6)
With this recent experience (the Christian camp) I realize even more than ever, that setting a time apart is something that I needed and need so badly! Whether it is going on a spiritual retreat and fellowship with other Christians or alone time.
It's something that renews your strength completely and gives you clarity in all of our ways; “Commit your way to the LORD; trust in him and he will do this: He will make your righteous reward shine like the dawn, your vindication like the noonday sun.
Be still before the LORD and wait patiently for him; do not fret when people succeed in their ways, when they carry out their wicked schemes.” (Psalm 37:5-7)
Prayer: Father help me to set time apart with you so that I can be renewed in your presence every day. I pray for daily guidance and see your hand in all my ways so please help me with perseverance and discipline and open my eyes to see your hand at work in my favor, in Jesus name.
